[Faculty Webinar Series] - Improving Students Outcomes & Equity with Oakton Community College

Our 2017 OLC Digital Learning Innovative Award Winners Dr. Nicole Perry, Department of Biology Chair and colleagues, Dr. Stephanie Levi Blumer and Dr. Kritika Pershad from Oakton Community College discuss how they implemented active learning techniques along with the adaptive Smart Course, BioBeyond, and examine data demonstrating improved student success rates by +8% term over term.

They focus on methods used in addressing the important barriers and challenges that many departments face and implementation strategies, including:

  • strategies towards improving student outcomes and equity
  • methods towards altering instructional approaches and
